Case Studies

LISAsoft's reputation for quality systems and knowledge leadership is built upon a depth of practical experience.

NTLIS – GeoServer Oracle3D Support

The challenge presented by the Northern Territory Land Information System (NTLS) was on the surface a simple GeoServer maintenance request: Bring Oracle 3D support up to the level provided for PostGIS users.

The widespread deployment of three-dimensional information in GIS systems is still in the early stages, presenting integration challenges not often encountered in the course of normal deployments.

This provided three integration points to check: Data Storage, Data Access and Publication.

OWS-9: WMS 1.3 Client Certification

LISAsoft supported the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) in making uDig the OGC’s client reference implementation for the WMS 1.3 standard.

OGC OWS - 9

The OGC runs a Compliance and Interoperability Testing Program designed to verify applications comply with OGC standards. In the OWS-9 testbed, the OGC added client testing to their Test, Evaluation and Measurement Engine for the first time.

OWS-9: Web Services Façade

LISAsoft developed an open source, Web Services Façade pilot, which enables web services, such as those which implement OGC standards, to be easily extended via a configurable proxy to support multiple protocols (such as SOAP, POST, GET, etc).

Australian Bureau of Meteorology - National Environmental Information Infrastructure pilot

The natural environment plays an important role in Australia’s economy and way of life. To manage it effectively, governments, industry and the community need comprehensive, trusted and timely environmental information to make sound environmental decisions. To support this need, the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (the Bureau) is leading the National Plan for Environmental Information initiative that will deliver improved quality, coverage, usability and access to environmental information.

Open Geospatial Consortium Test Beds

LISAsoft has helped agencies participate in spatial standards development and the stressing and verification of upcoming standards, by coordinating schema development, and building software test pilot applications in OGC testbeds.

The Challenge

To support Australian and New Zealand organisations to develop international geo-standards through the OGC’s test bed program.

The Solution

Sportsbet - Distributed Website Performance Monitoring

LISAsoft designed, implemented and are supporting a distributed website performance monitoring tool based on open source tools for Sportsbet. This has enabled Sportsbet to significantly reduce their ongoing licensing costs.

PSMA Data - New Datasets Available Through TerraPages

TerraPages is a product brand of LISAsoft where we create spatially enabled products and services for Australian government and commercial agencies.

Terrapages has built a vast suite of products based on the valuable PSMA datasets, including online maps, Storelocator Applications, Address Validation tools, Geocoding Engines ( both online and offline) along with rich mobile applications for the smart phone markets.

TerraPages is a full access reseller of all PSMA datasets, meaning we can sell these to anyone who needs them.

NRMB - Web Based Map Visualisation Application

Natural Resources Management Boards (NRMB) in South Australia are responsible for the management of all of the State’s natural resources – including soil, water, plants, animals, biodiversity and coast and marine. The Adelaide Region NRMB wished to create a web mapping application to be used in all their offices for collaborative asset management. The application needed to provide powerful functionality, but still be easy to understand for non-spatially trained users.

Whole of Government Metadata System Design

LISAsoft delivered the design for a standards-based metadata system that could hold not only information about the many different data sets themselves, but also incorporate business functions. The new design specially negates the duplication that is present in the existing system, to present users with a unified single point of truth for every bit of data held by the government.

The Challenge

MNDB & MRPDB Environment Training

Telstra asked LISAsoft to provide platform specific training to their Server Operations and Storage Operations Support groups.

MokBee Maps

MokBee Maps is a mobile mapping service developed by LISAsoft which displays rich content like stores and local landmarks on a mobile phone.

Tenement and Billing System

LISAsoft developed a Tenement and Billing web portal to manage leases and annual licence records, including issuing new leases or licences, invoicing and billing.

Satellite Image Website

The Victorian Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) maintains a central store for the Victorian Governments aerial photography, satellite imagery and digital maps. The Department wanted to make it easier for the public to access these images. The Department also wanted to make sure they were able to manage and monitor who was accessing the images.
