GeoServer is an OGC reference implementation “Web Feature Server" offering full transactional (WFS-T) support. In addition GeoServer offers certified "Web Map Server" (WMS) and Web Coverage Service (WCS) implementation. These capabilities add up to read/write and rendering of your spatial information over standard internet protocols.

With GeoServer you can publish and edit data using open standards, generating JPEG, PNG, SVG, KML/KMZ, GML, PDF, and Shapefiles on the fly. GeoServer's transactional capabilities offer robust support for shared editing. GeoServer's focus is ease of use and support for standards, in order to serve as 'glue' for the geospatial web, connecting from databases to many diverse clients.

LISAsoft uses GeoServer internally for many of our mapping services and our team includes members of the GeoServer and GeoTools (the core library used by GeoServer). As a company we have contributed cascading WFS support to allow GeoServer to aggregate several other WFS based services.
