OpenGIS-XLS

OpenGIS is a Location (Web) Services(s) that are built on the open standards of the Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc. (OGC), in conformity to the OpenGIS® Location Service (OpenLS) Implementation Specification: Core Services (OLS Core) v1.1.1.  These are defined as application schemas that are encoded in XML for Location Services XLS.

OpenGIS-XLS is capable of receiving and returning responses in the specified XLS format.  LISAsoft’s implementation takes the incoming request (XML) and selects the appropriate service to handle the request, and composes the (XML) response to XLS format.

This has many advantages, including use of a precise specification, inter-operable with other services, such as WMS, WFS, and GML data structures, but not bound to Java or Byte Code.
