National Oceans Office Portal
This system was developed for National Oceans Office and Australian Department for Environment & Heritage, in association with CSIRO.
This project involves a Java / Oracle Server Oriented Architecture. Social Change Online (SCO) has developed a portal for the National Oceans Office (NOO) that allows various organisations (stakeholders) to discover and use services provided by NOO. This portal is also how stakeholders maintain (publish) details of services they provide and any pertaining information related to those services to the portal, allowing for the provision of these services to NOO and the other stakeholders.
LISAsoft was contracted by SCO to provide implementation knowledge of the CubeWerx WRS (Web Registry Service) product - LISAsoft provides support for CubeWerx in Australia. This product will be used as the catalogue of service information. LISAsoft also provides the interface to the catalogue, using a set of standards managed by The Open GIS Consortium (OGC) such as ebRIM, an implementation of ebXML for a Registry Information Model that incorporates the use of XML Schemas.
This interface implements the OGC Web Services (OWS) standard and provides functionality such as service discovery, publishing and harvesting. A key feature is the query capabilities of the harvester that allow for semantic web style metadata aware searches incorporating the use of relevant taxonomies such as OBIS.
